The Opportunity
Our client is a niche defence sector consultancy which is seeking to recruit a commercially focused ILS Consultant that is experienced in working within the Defence industry on major support engineering programmes.
Core Role & Responsibilities
The Consultant will provide ILS consultancy services to a range of clients in the Defence sector. The individual will implement a wide range of ILS activities, including:
- Preparing, or contributing to, proposals on behalf of the company and its clients.
- Planning R&M programmes
- Planning Support Engineering / ILS programmes, including Logistic Support Analysis [LSA] activities
- The conduct of Support Engineering and R&M analyses
- The development of optimal support solutions for complex capital systems
- Supporting the development and maintenance of Technical Publications
- Conducting Training Needs Analysis [TNA] and developing training for maintainers and operators
- Conducting Support Engineering Modelling activities
- Developing a wide range of Support Engineering / ILS artefacts
- The preparation and presentation of Support Engineering data, reports and deliverables
- Carrying out any reasonable activities as required to support the overall Support Engineering effort
- The development and presentation of Support Engineering training materials
Experience Requirements:
- Significant ILS/support systems engineering consultancy experience within the Defence markets
- Logistic Support Analysis (LSA) expertise
- Systems engineering principles knowledge
- Perhaps reliability engineering experience on major programmes
- Awareness of UK MOD and major international support engineering standards
- IT competent, Microsoft packages etc
- Knowledge of UK Military In Service IT systems
- Modelling, support engineering data management and through life costing experience
- Project management skills including the use of tool such as MS Project
- Bid preparation experience, networked in Defence and a track record of winning consultancy work
