IT Director
Salary: £125k - £145k basic + 30% bonus and benefits
IT Director (UK)
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced and ambitious senior technology leader to step up to a transformational IT Director role. Our client is a global business at the forefront of pioneering industrial and cultural changes; the IT Director will be responsible for delivering a number of crucial programmes, as well as boosting the organisation’s data and BI architecture.
The Company straddles a number of traditional industries – financial services, IT and automotive. Changes in the nature and use of vehicles (from car-share to driverless cars, for example), the financial solutions available and the possibilities technology may be used to interact with and serve customers (developing an online same-day order and collect offering, for example) make these very interesting times.
Key responsibilities in the role include:
- Programme delivery
Up to 50% of time will be spent delivering new programmes. The biggest single task to be managed by the new IT Director will be to lead the implementation of a new bespoke ERP system. This is an end-to-end SAP implementation in to the UK business, as part of a global implementation that will require the integration of up to 60 legacy systems.
- Data Architecture and Design
The business acknowledges it needs to do far more to extract the greatest benefit from its data for decision making and monetary value adding purposes.
- Leadership
Ultimate responsibility for the UK IT team – approximate 50 permanent full-time staff plus 30-50 contractors
- IT Operations and Security
The oversight of business as usual needs and requirements of both customers and colleagues. Responsibility for IT security in the UK, as determined by Group.
Key requirements
The new IT Director will be able to positively demonstrate possessing the following essential professional skills and experiences:
- Leadership
Demonstrate the successful leadership of an IT team (approximately 50 people) at a large Corporate or blue-chip company during a period of significant change. This team may be function or region specific. Leading this team will ideally have required working in an international environment.
- Project delivery
Successfully delivered, or played a key identifiable role in the delivery of sizeable end-to-end IT programmes. An ERP delivery (SAP or Oracle for example) would be advantageous but is not essential.
- Supply and outsource partner management
Managed relationships with high-profile business advisory firms
- Technical
A technology architect with a broad understanding of technology able to show a comprehension of stakeholder needs where promises of delivery were made and delivered, punctually
- Data science
Significant professional experience, with examples, of having added real monetary value and business insight through the design and / or development of data science architecture
