Our client wishes to appoint a Managing Consultant to lead the delivery of its data analytics and benchmarking services to its international oil and gas client base. Internally, the new Managing Consultant will work closely with the Managing Director to manage the operations of the UK business, offer strategic input and identify areas for business improvement.
The Managing Consultant will be primarily responsible for client facing delivery of the benchmarking reports, so while they will need to understand and convey the findings, this is not a “hands on” analytical role. The benchmarking reports focus upon operational (rather than strategic) data points, provided by the client. These are typically facility costs; manpower at the facility; and data points on performance measures ranging from safety and maintenance/reliability to environmental impact.
95% of its clients are outside of the UK, so international travel will be regular. Delivery to clients is typically in the form of on-site workshops, talking them through the benchmarking results and guiding them to develop their own solutions for the improvements in the areas identified. This separates our clients from many consultancies, in that it specialises solely in the benchmarking services, rather than using them as a vehicle to generate additional consultancy fees.
