Our client is an international manufacturer of industrial engineered products and solutions, for the built environment. The UK business offer an unparalleled and comprehensive range of high quality products and services, design and build capability and exceptional after-sales support.
With a turnover of over £20m in the UK, the business is looking to recruit a new UK Managing Director who can create positive change and be instrumental in growing the UK business. The company has around 150 employees.
UK Managing Director – The Role
The UK business has been underperforming over the past few years so the Group board has decided to recruit a new UK Managing Director to drive positive change and growth.
Based in the Midlands, the incoming Managing Director will report directly to the Group Chief Executive.
The Managing Director will be responsible for developing and implementing a leading-edge business strategy with a strong focus on increasing operational efficiency and financial management, as well as driving continuous improvement throughout the business.

Key Responsibilities:
Rapidly become acquainted with the Group management style and operational philosophies; gaining a strong understanding of the product range, engineering services, markets and customer base.
Provide strong leadership and establish credibility as a business leader, to ensure execution of current business plans and budgets, taking full P&L responsibility for the business unit performance, develop a plan to improve profitability of the UK business.
Further develop and implement an ambitious business growth strategy in line with the group strategy.
Working with Group, identify and carry out due diligence on possible acquisitions in line with the strategy, integrating and leveraging capability.
Devise and implement demanding targets for improvement in market share, profit margin and customer satisfaction measures, without compromising quality.
Develop strong and constructive relationships at a high level with existing and potential customers.
Review existing systems, controls and organizational structures to identify, track and optimise conversion and pull through of contracts to support the realistic but ambitious growth plans
Build and maintain a growth-oriented customer focused culture with accountability, high commitment and team work as shared values.
