The Requirement
As part of a major strategic initiative, tesa approached Novo to help build a new Corporate-level team dedicated to identifying, incubating and scaling emerging polymer technologies. These newly created Technical Innovation and Commercial Lead roles would work directly with the CTO, acting as a bridge between scientific discovery and commercial application.
The ideal candidates required a rare blend of deep academic excellence—typically a PhD in Polymer Chemistry—combined with the commercial intelligence to evaluate market potential, assess strategic viability and translate scientific advancements into tangible business opportunities. A critical element of the brief was the ability to build high-value external networks with universities, research institutions, start-ups and other innovation partners. These individuals needed to thrive at the intersection of science, strategy and commercial execution.
